About Burley Ridge

Burley Ridge is Nicholasville’s premier new subdivision with features  like no other subdivision in Nicholasville in this price range as well  as connections to our family’s history as well as Jessamine County and  Central Kentucky.    The farm was previously used as a cattle farm as  well as a burley tobacco farm, thus the inspiration for the name.  But  it doesn’t end there.   Our grandfather was very active in the burley  tobacco business for decades just like many farmers throughout the  history of Jessamine County.   Mr Ethington ran several tobacco  warehouses in Lexington and this was the inspiration for many of the  street names.   We have tried to choose street names to honor his  legacy.  Shelburne Way was named after Shelburne Tobacco Warehouse that  was located on South Broadway in Lexington just a couple blocks away from Rupp Arena  and was where Mr Ethington worked for decades.   The logo colors for the  development were also taken from the Shelburne logos we grew up  seeing.  Rogers Rest Court was inspired by Rogers Restaurant which was  famous in Lexington and a local favorite for tobacco farmers in the  tobacco district.

In keeping with a more rural, and  traditional agricultural aura, we have decided to line the entrance and  road with four board black plank fencing as well as only allowing this  same type of fencing in the subdivision in keeping with an open  feeling.   All street signs and mailboxes are locally fabricated from  Kentucky Ornamental Iron in Lexington with custom designs.   The street  lights were chosen based on the same color and southern charm.

As  our family is from Nicholasville and Jessamine County, we have strived  to create a subdivision unlike anything in Nicholasville.   We want the  homeowners to be proud of their neighborhood and Nicholasville to have a  premier development that will attract people to our wonderful city.
